Child Safety Standards

Zero tolerance for child exploitation.

Effective: June 26, 2026

KeepUp has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). It is strictly prohibited on KeepUp. We act on every report, remove offending accounts, and report CSAM to the relevant authorities.

Our commitment

KeepUp is operated by 16th Street Holdings LLC. We are committed to keeping our service free of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and to complying with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy, Apple’s guidelines, and all applicable child-safety laws. This page describes the standards we hold and how we enforce them.

Who KeepUp is for

KeepUp is a general-audience app for people 13 and older who want to stay in touch with people they already know. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account. If we learn that someone under 13 is using KeepUp, we remove the account and delete its data.

KeepUp has no public discovery, no open feed, and no stranger matching. You only ever connect with people you personally invite by phone number, and they have to accept. There is no way to browse, search for, or be matched with people you don’t already know — which removes the primary way predators reach children on social platforms.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly prohibited on KeepUp and result in immediate, permanent account removal and, where required, a report to the relevant authorities:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, in any form.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any sexualization of a minor.
  • Sextortion, trafficking, or any attempt to exploit, endanger, or sexualize a child.
  • Using KeepUp to facilitate, link to, or coordinate any of the above.

How we prevent and respond

  • Closed, invite-only network.KeepUp connects only people who invite each other by phone number and accept — there is no stranger discovery or matching that could expose a child to a predator.
  • In-app reporting. You can report a person you’re connected with from inside the app, and reports come straight to our team (see below).
  • We act on every report. We review reports promptly, remove offending accounts, preserve relevant evidence, and report apparent CSAM to the appropriate authorities.
  • Block and remove. You can block anyone at any time, and accounts that violate these standards are permanently removed.

How to report a concern

If you encounter child sexual abuse or exploitation on KeepUp, please report it right away:

  • In the app: use the Report option on the person you’re concerned about to flag them to our team.
  • By email: contact support@startkeepingup.com and we will respond promptly.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first. In the United States, you can also report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

Compliance and reporting to authorities

We comply with applicable child-safety laws in the regions where KeepUp is available. When we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material, we remove it, preserve the relevant information, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant national authority, and we cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.

Point of contact

Our designated point of contact for child-safety and CSAE matters is reachable at support@startkeepingup.com. This contact is able to speak to our CSAM-prevention practices and compliance.

Changes to these standards

We may update these standards as KeepUp evolves or as requirements change. The “Effective” date above will change when we do.
